Extend Your Dish Sponges
Cut your dish sponges in half with a pair of scissors or with a high quality knife. The truth is you'll be able to clean your dishes just the same with half the size. It doesn't take that much time and saves you a lot more money than you'd think. I figure if the effort to save is minimal, even if you don't realize the discount, you might as well do it.

Dry Two Loads at a Time
Disclaimer: I read an article once and wet laundry is apparently one of the dirtiest things in the U.S., top 20 actually. So follow this advice at your own discretion.
Wait until you have two loads of wash done before using the dryer. Transfer the newly washed load to the dryer for storage. When the second load of clothes are finished, dry both of them at the same time to save money.
Beach Day
The beach is free and I wish people would take advantage of it more often. It's pretty, it's a workout, and it's free!!! (Usually...) You can go with your friends and play ultimate frisbee, go by yourself with a really good book, or with someone special. You can bring your own food and everything.
Keep Your Freezer Efficient
If you have an empty freezer, it isn't running efficiently and it's costing you $. Fill it up as best as you can. Fill empty bottles up with water and store it in the freezer, if you have to. This is a good incentive to buy a whole mess of frozen goods when they're on sale, too!
Ask for a Lower APR
Call your credit company up and ask to see if they're willing to drop your credit rating. If you get declined, you're no worse off than you already are.
Enjoy the Sunny Days
I know that dinner dates is the popular choice, but dinner meals are always more expensive. And if you're eating at a fancy restaurant, maintaining your wardrobe is probably pricey, too. Imagine this, a bright weekend afternoon, the sun is shining, the skies a clear baby blue, you're sitting outside in a cafe eating a lunch combo, affordable, comfortable, great weather, and good company. Or you can even have a picnic lunch date. Bring your own food. It's much cheaper. You can bring exactly what you like. Go to a park and enjoy the day together.

Garage Sales
If you want to find affordable books, garage sales are an avenue worth exploring. If you just happen to see a garage sale sign, consider stopping by. But be selective. Don't just buy a whole bunch of books because it's super cheap. You want to save money and get a bargain. If you spend only a dollar, but it's on a book you don't really want. You're actually losing money.
